Navy rescues drifting Indian trawler with 3 fishermen

Navy personnel rescued an Indian trawler along with three Indian fishermen in distress within Sri Lankan waters off Analativu on Sunday. They had been drifting due to a shortage of fuel and a technical defect in the fishing trawler, when they were spotted by Navy officers on routine patrol.

The rescued Indian fishermen and the fishing trawler were towed to the Karainagar Naval Base. On completion of repairs, the trawler was escorted to the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) on Monday (21).
