Government must reject the OHCHR report on Sri Lanka


The Government of Sri Lanka must reject the report of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) Investigation on Sri Lanka, the Former Sri Lankan Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) in Geneva Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka stated.

Speaking further, Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka stressed that “After 1987, this is the greatest and the most dangerous challenge the nation has gotten. The sovereignty of the country will be harmed by tolerating this report.” He said that it is clearly mentioned in the 251 page, article 36, in OHCHR investigation report.

Furthermore, it allows the ability to punish for war crimes by any Court in 193 countries in the world, as per the report's suggestions. Thus the report presented ought to be dismisses, regardless of the political differences, he add
