Former SLFP leaders, including former presidents Mahinda Rajapaksa and Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga have been invited.

SLFP was founded by the 4th Prime Minister of Sri Lanka late S.W.R.D Bandaranaike in 1951 and, since then, it has been one of the two largest parties in the Sri Lankan political arena.

An Ashirvada Pooja will be held at the ancient Somawathiya Temple from 7 a.m. on September 2 to invoke blessings on the party.

Multi-faith religious ceremonies will be held throughout the week at places of religious worship to invoke blessings on the party, the people and the country.
