5 suspects arrested with counterfeit notes

A woman and 4 other persons were arrested with 20 counterfeit 2000 rupee notes and 6 counterfeit 5000 rupee notes last evening.

 

According to the police media spokesman’s office, the suspects were arrested while they were travelling in a van along Kurunegala – Kandy road.

 

The van was subjected to an emergency search upon a tip-off received by the Kurunegala Police.

 

The arrested suspects will be produced before Kurunegala Magistrate courts today.
