Kerala Ganga worth 10 million rupees and 7.3 million foreign currency apprehended


The police yesterday apprehended two suspects along with 50 kilogrammes of Kerala ganja worth about 10 million rupees at Kusumanthurai in Ilavaalai in Jaffna while being transported in a van.

The police media spokesman’s office said that this apprehension was carried out on a tip-off.

Two residents of Vavuniya aged 22 and 36 were arrested during the special raid.

Meanwhile the Airport Customs apprehended a stock of foreign currency worth 7. 3 million rupees when 2 suspects attempted to illegally transport them from Sri Lanka to Singapore.

They had tried to carry this foreign currency out of the country, having packed them in their traveling bags and envelopes.
