President said opposition would be given the opportunity to appoint the Opposition Leader

NFF leader Wimal Weerawansa quoted President Maithripala Sirisena as saying an opportunity would be given to the Opposition to appoint a leader of the Opposition.
He stated this to the media after having discussions with the President at the latter’s official residence this morning.
Leaders of UPFA coalitions, Dinesh Gunawardana of the MEP, Wasudeva Nanayakkara of the Democratic Left Front and representatives of the Desha Vimukthi Janatha Party and Mahajana Party participated in the discussions.
NFF leader Weerawansa also said that views were exchanged during the meeting with the President about the allocation of national list MP slots and the appointment of a General Secretary of the UPFA.
