Sri Lanka should honestly face the past


The US says that Sri Lanka should honestly and fully face the activities of the past.US State Department’s Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Affairs Tom Malinoski sayd that he hopes that Sri Lanka will accept this position.

The Assistant Secretary of State said further that he hoped that after the UNHRC report on Sri Lanka was released, Sri Lanka would act not only from a protectionist point of view.

Posting a twitter US Assistant Secretary of State Tom Malinovski said that he hoped that Sri Lanka would accept the past as it was and take action with full honesty with regard to needs.

Malinovski who came to Sri Lanka with US State Department’s Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Nishaa Biswal, left the island yesterday.
