Leaders and former leaders cast their votes for the General Election 2015

Leaders and former leaders of political parties cast their vote for the General Election 2015 today.

President Maithripala Sirisena cast his vote at the polling centre at Vidyaloka Pirivena in Polonnaruwa while Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe cast his vote at the polling centre at Colombo University.

 

Having cast his vote, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said that he is confident that people will give a full mandate to continue the good governance that was restored on January 8th.

 

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa cast his vote at the polling centre at D.A. Rajapaksa Vidyalaya in Medamulana. 

 

Addressing the media later, he said that the UPFA would win the General Election 2015.

 

Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaranatunga also cast her vote at the polling centre at Sanghabodi Vidyalaya in Nittambuwa this morning while former Prime Minister Rathnasiri Wickramanayake cast his vote at the Horana Vidyarathna temple. 

 

Former Prime Minister D.M. Jayarathna also cast his vote at the Doluwa Maha Vidyalaya in Gampola.

 

Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Nimal Siripala de Silva cast his vote at the Dharmadhutha Maha Vidyalaya in Badulla. 

 

JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake cast his vote at the polling centre at Panchikawatta Abeysinharamaya. 

 

Addressing the media, Dissanayake said that his party would secure a significant victory in this election.
