North Central PC House Leader Ananda Sarath-kumara remanded again


Anuradhapura Chief Magistrate today refused to release North Central Provincial Council House Leader Ananda Sarathkumara who was in remand.

The House Leader was remanded on charges of misappropriating 900 thousand rupees during the distribution of roofing sheets among the poor.

Accordingly, Magistrate Shanaka Kalansuriya ordered to remand him until the 4th of August.

The Magistrate also stated that he would consider releasing the House Leader on bail on the same day.

The North Central provincial councilor is accused of committing the misappropriation under the guise of distributing 538 roofing sheets to the residents of Polonnaruwa with the allocations of the Northern Provincial council in 2014.
