
A Sri Lankan origin cricketer dies after being hit by a cricket ball during a match

24-year-old Bavalan Pathmanathan of Sri Lankan origin who represented Manipay Parish Sports Club passed away after being hit by a cricket ball during a match in England. He was immediately admitted to the hospital after the incident and treated by ambulance. He had passed away due to the damages caused by internal bleeding.
Pathmanathan was a former student of Hartley College in Jaffna.
Few months ago a similar incident took place in Australia where the Australian cricketer Phil Hughes died after being hit by cricket ball on his neck and due to a sub-arachnoid haemorrhage. All fans and friends of Bavalan Pathmanathan are deeply saddened over this untimely death.
