A navy sailor dies during a US training exercise in Trincomole sea

A Sri Lanka Navy soldier was killed in an accident when a boat capsised at a military exercise the US navy held for the Sri Lankan navy in the Trincomalee sea yesterday.
A 28 year-old navy soldier, resident of Hangurangketa, was thus killed as a result of getting entrapped under a part of the boat when it capsized during the military exercise.
The Navy media spokesman said that the post mortem on the body of the deceased soldier was scheduled to be held today.
While the US – Sri Lanka navy training exercise called ‘Flash Style’ commenced on 19th this month, it will end on July 2nd.
Reports say that this exercise was held yesterday at a distance of about 5 nautical miles from the Trincomalee beach.
While there were eight person including two US Navy personnel in the capsized boat , the rest of the navy personnel had swum and escaped.
