The UNP says that those who are afraid of elections are also attempting to hinder the 20th Amendment.
Addressing a media briefing held at UNP Headquarters this morning, Media Minister Gayantha Karunathilaka said such groups are bringing in no-confidence motions intending to prevent the 20th Amendment being presented in parliament.
Meanwhile, SLFP says that it is not afraid of facing an election any time.
Addressing a media conference held in Colombo this morning, Deputy Minister of Media Shantha Bandara said that attempt to refrain from supporting the 20th Amendment is not a people-friendly act.
Meanwhile, addressing a media conference held at Abhayaramaya at Narahenpita, MP Professor G.L. Peiris said a new government would be able to pass the 20th Amendment easily than the current government.
