SLFP General Secretary Anura Priyadarshana Yapa said that there is no necessity to remove the party office bearers including him who work for the unity of the party.
He expressed these views after certain media reported that SLFP and UPFA are going to change the top positions of the two parties.
The dispute erupted after a publication was distributed among journalists at SLFP party Headquarters last Wednesday.
Although the particular booklet was imprinted as a party publication, UPFA General Secretary Susil Premajayantha rejected the claim during the media conference held on the same day.
However, SLFP General Secretary Anura Priyadarshana Yapa says that the publication has been provided to the party headquarters by Minister S.B. Dissanayake.
He said that he informed the SLFP headquarters to stop its distribution yesterday.
The General Secretary also said that he would inform the matter to the party central working committee.
Meanwhile, participating in Hiru TV “Paththare Wisthare” program this morning, UPFA General Secretary and SLFP National Organizer Susil Premajayantha had this to say about a change of party office bearers.
Our news team also enquired Anura Priyadarshana Yapa about the booklet distributed among journalists at the SLFP headquarters last Wednesday.
He also said that the distribution of the booklet was stopped and the matter would be taken to the central working committee.
Although we attempted to contact minister S.B. Dissanayake who distributed this booklet among journalists, our effort were futile.
