
Daily operations at Kalubowila hospital disrupted due to minor workers strike

The All Ceylon Health Services has launched a 3-day token strike with effect from today on several demands including salary arrears.
Accordingly the strike has been launched from 8 this morning to 12 noon at Colombo South Teaching Hospital and Castle Street Hospital for Women. Workers of 30 service grades including health service assistants have joined this strike today.
All Ceylon Health Services Association President Samantha Korale Arachchi said that the strike will be extended to another 10 hospitals tomorrow and to the Colombo National Hospital on day after tomorrow.
When our news team contacted director of the South Colombo Teaching Hospital Asela Gunawardana said that the daily operation of the hospital has been affected as 80% of the hospital minor workers have joined the strike.
