Sri Lankan nationals who had a narrow-escape from Nepal’s earthquake tragedy could safely return to their motherland.
The Sri Lanka Air Force aircraft (C-130) that carried the first Sri Lankan contingent of Army, Navy, Air Force troops and medical consultants to the earthquake-struck Nepal on Saturday (25), returned to the island yesterday afternoon (28) around 2.50 p.m. with 42 members of the under 14 Sri Lanka Football team and their coaches, teachers, medical officers, parents and assistants who were in Nepal to compete in a football tournament.
Few Lankans expressed their frightening experience on Nepal’s earthquake situation at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).
