Sri Lankan government ally to contest the Uva Provincial Council election separately

Minister of National Languages and Social Integration Vasudeva Nanayakkara said that his party Democratic Left Front, a coalition party of Sri Lanka ruling alliance would contest the Uva Provincial Council election separately unless nomination was granted for its candidate.
Minister Vasudeva Nanayakkara said that his party would not contest the election in the Badulla district but it seeks nomination for the Moneragala district.
The Minister said he expects the ruling United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) to allow his party to field one candidate.
The Minister stated that he would discuss the matter with the UPFA hierarchyand to arrive at a decision after that.
