
Sangakkara, only Asian in WC X

Kumar Sangakkara, who quit one-day international with a record breaking four centuries, has been selected as the only Asian cricketer in the World Cup team, announced by the International Cricket Council yesterday.
New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum has been picked as the captain of the side, which has been dominated by five Black Caps.
The World Cup 2015 team includes New Zealand Captain Brendon McCullum and Martin Guptill, Sri Lanka’s wicketkeeper Kumar Sangakkara, Australia’s Steven Smith, south Africa’s AB de Villiers, and Glenn Maxwell, New Zealand’s Corey Anderson, and Daniel Vettori, Australia’s Mitchell Starc, New Zealand’s Trent Boult, and South Africa’s Morne Morkel.
Zimbabwe’s Brendan Taylor was selected as the 12th man
