Group left human torsos in Colombo caught on CCTV camera

The police investigation team which is investigating the incidents in which human body parts were found in several places in Colombo has drawn its attention to CCTV video footage.
Police Media spokesman Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ruwan Gunasekera stated that CCTV cameras installed at private houses and institutions in the surrounding areas where the body parts were found could have possible recorded evidence to these incidents.
Mystery surrounds after human body parts were found in the past few days from several places in Colombo Urban areas.
A human body with its left hand severed was found from Diyawanna Oya on Wednesday.
Later several more human body parts were found at Siri Dhamma Mawatha in Dematagoda, Navala in Welikada and at Kalu Palama in Dematagoda.
Police Media spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said that these human body parts have been sent for DNA tests to identify further details.
Meanwhile IGP N.K. Ilangakoon has decided to hand over the investigations to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
