K Sri Pavan takes oaths as the 44th Chief Justice


The most senior judge of the Supreme Court K. Sri Pavan, took oaths as the 44th Chief Justice of Sri Lanka before President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday.

Born on the 29th of February 1952, K Sri Pavan studied at Hindu College Jaffna.

He joined the Attorney General’s Department in 1978 and later on obtained a Diploma in Commercial Law and completed his law degree in London.

The new CJ served as a Supreme Court Judge since 2008.
