Common Candidate personally takes the responsibility of protecting the unitary status of the country.


The Common Candidate Maithreepala Sirisena reiterated that he will personally take the responsibility of protecting the unity of the country after assuming duties as the President.


Expressing his views further, the Common Candidate added that he will not take any measures to remove the army troops in the North or divide the country.


He added that he requests his opponent President Mahinda Rajapaksa to be committed towards a free and fair election.
