Sri Lanka cricket bans horns, hooters

Sri Lanka Cricket board yesterday announced that portable horns and ‘hooters’ have been banned at cricket venues with immediate effect.

Sri Lanka Cricket said that the Executive Committee arrived at the decision in order to safeguard spectator comfort inside spectator areas of the stadium.

It also said that Papare bands will not be banned, but that individual horns brought in by the spectators will be banned.

The rule will be implemented today at the 3rd ODI in Hambantota.

The cricket board said that security personnel will search very strictly, and will confiscate the item if found in the possession of a spectator at the cricket venue.
