Suspect who forged documents arrested with official seals and printing equipment


A suspect has been arrested during a raid of a place used for large scale forgery of documents in the Hingurakgoda - Raja Ela.

The Polonnaruwa Divisional Criminal Investigations Department had seized 86 fake official seals of state and private institutions, a computer and two printing machines and a large haul of forged documents.

It has been revealed to the police that the 51-year-old suspect, a resident of Hingurakgoda, had forged police certificates, educational certificates, marriage certificates, court documents, timber permits, documents relating to land deeds, medical certificates, exam certificates and even Grama Sevaka certificates.
