Mother who was swept away by Yaala sea waves continues to receive treatment at the ICU

The mother who was rescued after being swept away in the Kirinda- Yala sea, continues to receive treatment at the ICU of the Ampara general hospital.
The 34 year old mother was admitted to the Debarawewa hospital and later transferred to the ICU of the Ampara general hospital as the Hambanthota and Tissamahara ICU’s were largely occupied by patients.
The father and the two daughters, had been at the Kirinda- Yala sea shore around 7.30 am yesterday.
They had been swept away by a current, and the mother has made an attempt to rescue them when she was also caught in a current.
Upon the intervention of those who had been at the location during the time of the incident, they were rescued and admitted to the Debarawewa and Kirinda hospitals.
The father and the older daughter died upon admission to hospital while the 4 year old younger daughter also succumbed to injuries later on.
Due to the critical condition of the mother receiving treatment at the Debarawewa hospital, she was transferred to the Ampara general hospital.
