President addresses the UN Environmental Conference in Kenya today

President Maithripala Sirisena left for Nairobi, Kenya yesterday to participate in the United Nations Environment Assembly as a special invited guest

The President is attending the UN Assembly on an invitation from Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The fourth UN Environment Assembly is being held in Nairobi.

It began on the 11th march and will conclude on the  15th .

the theme for the assembly is  "Innovative Solutions for Environmental Challenges and Sustainable Consumption and Production."

President Sirisena will address the summit and deliver a special speech later today.

Prominent world leaders will be in attendance , along with CEOs from major corporations.
