Sri lanka suffer a humiliating 5 - 0 white wash for the first time against India


Skipper Virat Kohli led from the front with a gritty unbeaten century as a dominant India completed a resounding 5-0 whitewash over Sri Lanka by winning the 5th and final ODI by 3 wickets yesterday.

Opting to bat, Sri Lanka rode on their skipper Angelo Mathews' unbeaten 139 runs for just 116 balls, put up a challenging 286 for 8, before Kohli who scored 139 guided India home with 8 balls to spare.

Angelo Mathews was adjudged the Player of the match, while, Player of the series was Virat Kohli.

India made a clean sweep of the Lankans for the first time since 1984.
