Indian Oil Company distributers in a protest

Indian Oil company distributers staged a protest at the Company’s main office yesterday demanding that petrol and diesel prices be made the same as the petroleum corporation prices.

Tension cropped up when the distributers exchanged views with the relevant Company authorities.

While currently the corporation petrol is sold at Rs.145 per litre, Indian Oil sells its petrol at Rs.153/- per litre.

The Indian OIL company distributers told the authorities yesterday that due to this their income had decreased.

In addition while the corporation sells diesel at Rs.116/= per litre, the Indian Oil Company sells its diesel at Rs. 118/= per litre.

When the distributers came to the Indian Oil Company’s main office at the Colombo World Trade Centre for informing the company about the matter, a tense situation occurred.
