A 25-year-old man was hacked to death in broad daylight in Attapur area of Hyderabad on Wednesday. The incident happened at pillar number 143 of PVNR Expressway. The deceased, identified as J Ramesh, was the main accused in the murder of 24-year-old grocery store worker, Mahesh Goud, in December last year. The two accused have been identified as Mahesh's father and his uncle. As per the reports, both the accused followed Ramesh while he was returning home from Rajendra Nagar court. After chasing him for about 100 metres, they attacked Ramesh with an axe. Some people present at the spot tried to intervene, but failed to stop the attack. A traffic constable, who was present at the spot, also tried to intervene but he was not successful either. Ramesh died on the spot. After killing Ramesh, both the accused left the weapon on the spot and surrendered before the police. A video footage of the incident shows a police patrolling vehicle passing through the spot at the time of the incident but policemen in the patrolling vehicle did not stop or tried to prevent the attack. Shamshabad DCP N Prakash Reddy told TOI that Ramesh was the main accused in the murder of Mahesh that took place at Shamshabad in December 2017 over a love affair.
