Update: Airport strike called off

Strike by SLFP trade union at BIA was called off after discussions with the authorities.
Secretary of Sri Lanka Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya Airport branch Dinesh Nandika Perera stated that following the discussion with Minister Priyankara Jayarathna the union decided to call off the strike.
The Airport and flights operations were disrupted due a strike launched by the workers attached to the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport this morning.
Power supply to Katunayaka Airport disconnected, thousands of passengers stranded as some outbound flights delayed due to trade union action at BIA
Workers of the Katunayake International airport have staged a demonstration in the airport premisses this morning.
When inquired it was know that Operations at the airport has been affected owing to this trade union action.
