President Mahinda Rajapaksa said that the current Government had turned a new page in the country’s sports sector.
The President said so at a meeting held at Temple Trees yesterday with 5000 Western, Southern and Northwestern province sports representatives.
Meanwhile, Primary Industries Minister of New Zealand Nathan Guy, who led a trade delegation to Sri Lanka this week to promote trade and New Zealand's co-hosting of the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2015, met Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday.
During the meeting Guy on behalf of his Government, offered support to Sri Lanka for relief efforts following last week's devastating landslide in Koslanda.
