A report from Human Rights commission about Meeriyabadda land slide

The Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission has taken steps to obtain a report about the incident of landslides that occurred in Meeriyabaedda in Koslanda in Haldummulla.
HRC legal secretary attorney-at-law Nimal Punchihewa said that by now relevant instructions for this had been given to the HRC Badulla office.
By now, bodies of 10 persons who died due to the landslide, have been recovered.
SLA Central Province Commandant Major General Mano Perera who carries out operations on the relevant site, said that although the operations were temporarily suspended last afternoon, it would resume this morning.
Similarly the National Disaster Management Centre said that 13 thouasnd 515 persons belonging to 3277 families were still hit by the inclement weather condition affecting several districts in the island.
