White House Computers Breached By Hackers

Hackers suspected to be working for the Russian government have breached part of the White House computer network, according to reports.

The building's unclassified network was compromised during the attack two to three weeks ago, the Washington Post has reported.

An investigation involving the FBI, Secret Service and National Security Agency is now under way.

Several cyber-espionage campaigns by Russian hackers who are believed to be acting on behalf of their government have recently been reported by security firms.

Targets have included NATO, the Ukrainian government and US defence contractors.
