Trump-Kim summit: Pentagon remains 'ironclad' after war games cancelled

The Pentagon has reassured allies of its "ironclad" security commitments, after US President Donald Trump cancelled its Korean military exercises.

President Trump made the announcement after an historic summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Singapore yesterday.

The cancellation is seen as a significant concession to North Korea.

Meanwhile, North Korean state media said Kim had accepted an offer from President Trump to visit the US.

Furthermore, Kim Jong Un invited Donald Trump to visit North Korea calling it the start of a "radical switchover" in the nuclear-armed Cold War foes' fraught relations.
President Trump also said that adversaries can become friends, and the past does not have to define the future.
