Deputy President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa, who is on an official visit to Sri Lanka, met with president Mahinda Rajapaksa on Monday.
The President’s Media Unit said that the meeting had taken place at Temple trees Monday afternoon.
The Deputy President of South Africa and the delegation arrived in the country on Monday following an invitation extended by the Sri Lankan government.
Ramaphosa met with External Affairs Minister Prof. G. L. Peiris on Monday and held discussions.
Presidential Spokesperson Mohan Samaranayake said that the deputy president is scheduled meet with the opposition leader, members of the TNA and the chief minister of the Northern Province during his visit.
He is scheduled visit the Northern Province on Tuesday.
