Patrick Modiano wins Nobel Prize for Literature

French author Patrick Modiano has won the Nobel Prize for Literature.
The Nobel jury said his works centre on topics such as memory, guilt and identity.
It said it awarded him the prize "for the art of memory with which he has evoked the most ungraspable human destinies and uncovered the life-world of the occupation".
The city of Paris often features in the work of the 69-year-old.
His works include Night Rounds, Ring Roads: A Novel, Villa Triste, Missing Person, A Trace of Malice, Honeymoon.
He has also written children's books and film scripts.
