Thisara Perera loses ODI captaincy


Sri Lanka Cricket says it will announce the name of Sri Lanka captain for the ODI team on next Tuesday (Jan. 09).
The SLC said that it was decided following a discussion held yesterday (Jan. 03) at Sri Lanka Cricket, over the appointment of a white-ball captain to lead the Sri Lankan side into the future.
“During the discussion, the Chairman of selectors informed me that they are considering appointing either Angelo Mathews or Dinesh Chandimal to fill the role,” said Thilanga Sumathipala, the President of SLC.
Thilanga Sumathipala, President, SLC, K. Mathivanan, Vice President, In-charge of International Cricket, SLC, Ashley de Silva, CEO of SLC, Graeme Labrooy, Chairman of the National Selection Panel, Asanka Gurusinha, Sri Lanka Cricket Manager and Chandika Hathurusinghe, the Head Coach of the team were present at the meeting, the SLC said.
