Rod Stewart sued for breaking fan's nose with soccer ball during concert

British singer Rod Stewart is being sued for allegedly breaking an American fan's nose with a soccer ball.

The 69-year-old singer allegedly caused the damage after he booted the ball into the audience during a show at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in October 2012.

Mostafa Kashe wants $10,000 in compensation for lost wages, attorney's fees and cosmetic repairs to his naval cavity.

The electrical engineer from Diamond Bar, Calif., claims he was "unexpectedly hit in the face" and that the "Maggie May" singer was "negligent, careless and/or reckless" in his actions.

Kashe, 53, filed a civil negligence lawsuit in Clark County district court in Nevada this week.

"Stewart has significant experience in the sport of soccer and experience in kicking soccer balls, having previously tried out for a professional soccer team in the UK and regularly playing in amateur soccer leagues since his youth," his complaint states.

"Stewart either knew or should have known that his actions could cause injury to unsuspecting patrons of his concerts," it adds.
