Update : Police to use video footage to arrest suspects of Hali- Ala attack

The Paffrel Organization has requested the IGP for more police teams to be deployed in the Badulla district in order to minimize post election violence.
Paffrel Executive Director Rohana Hetti Aarachchi said that his organization has received 10 complaints about post election violence incidents so far.
Meanwhile an attack was launched on a fleet of vehicles that escorted UNP Chief Ministerial candidate Harin Fernando near a police post in Hali Ela last evening.
Police has already initiated investigations using video footages to arrest the suspects that involved in the Hali Ela attack.
The attackers had damaged 5 vehicles. Besides, a journalist has been hospitalized after he was attacked by the mob during the Hali Ela incident.
Meanwhile Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said STF personnel have been deployed in certain areas of the Badulla district after the Hali Ela incident.
Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana stated that investigations have commenced in to the incident where a group of UNP supporters on a procession were assaulted in the Hali-ela town in Badulla.
He further stated that after bringing the situation under control, the STF has been deployed in the area.
