
MPs visit Wimal Weerawansa

MPs of the Joint Opposition and civil society representatives visited National Freedom Front (NFF) Leader MP Wimal Weerawansa who was arrested yesterday.
MPs Udaya Gammanpila, Bandula Gunawardena, C. B. Ratnayake were among the group who went to the Colombo Magazine Prison, Hiru Correspindent said.
MP Weerawansa was arrested by the FCID over alleged misuse of state vehicles. He was remanded till 24th this month by Colombo Fort Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne.
Meanwhile, UPFA parliamentarian Jayantha Samaraweera said at a press conference that the arrest was a move to sabotage their party meeting that will be held on 22nd this month.
