Special select committee to probe corruption in the Foreign Ministry; Government agrees with JVP’s proposal

JVP MP Sunil Handunnetti requested in parliament today to appoint a fully-fledged special committee to probe the massive fraud and corruption committed in the Foreign Ministry from 2010 to 2015.

Responding to the JVP proposal, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said that he has no objection towards the proposal.

He also informed to present the proposal to parliament accordingly.

Meanwhile, heads of Foreign Ministry, Labour and Trade Union Relations and Foreign Employment will be taken for debate today.
