Karuna Amman arrested

Former Deputy Minister Vinayagamurthi Muralitharan alias Karuna Amman has been arrested by the FCID.
Karuna Amman was arrested after being reported to the FCID to record a statement with regard to the misuse of vehicles belonging to the then Presidential Secretariat this morning.
On a tip-off received by the FCID, a bullet proof vehicle used by Karuna Amman was found in a garage in Batticaloa recently.
The face value of the vehicle is said to be 90 million rupees.
Vinayagamurthi Muralitharan alias Karuna Amman was the deputy minister of National Integration and Reconciliation during the Rajapaksa regime.
A FCID senior officer stated that Karuna Amman will be produced before Hulftsdorp Magistrate Courts.
