Proposal to increase MP allowance up to 100,000 rupees to be submitted to cabinet today

The proposal to increase MPs’ allowance up to 100,000 rupees is scheduled to be presented to the cabinet today.
The parliamentary affairs ministry is due to submit the relevant proposal.
The Government had earlier said that the MPs’ allowance should be increased up to 100 thousand rupees.
Currently there are 225 MPs.
The proposal is to provide the allowance without any difference as to whether the MPs are from the Government or Opposition.
Similarly it has also been proposed to increase the allowance for being present at parliamentary meetings from Rs.500 to Rs. 2500 per day.
