Earthquake in Japan: mini tsunami hits Fukushima after 7.4 magnitude quake


Residents along the coastline of Fukushima Miyagi prefecture in Japan were urged to evacuate due to a mini tsunami that was triggered following a powerful earthquake of 7.4 magnitude.

The quake hit around 6.00am (Japan time) and several small tsunamis were recorded along the coastline.

However, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre stated that the threat has largely passed.
