Four thermal power plants malfunctioning due to a fuel problem

The Electrical Engineers’ Union says that four thermal power plants have been reported as being dysfunctional, due to a fuel problem.

Union chairman Athula Wanniarachchi said that as a result of this, the capacity of the national grid would be minus 400 megawatts of electricity.

Due to a sudden power failure that occurred on 12th of last month at the Norochcholai power plant, where the high power electric cable system became inoperative, and its first generator has not yet been repaired.

As a result the national electricity grid loses a capacity of 300 megawatts.
