Psychiatric assessment on individual who attempted to get close to President and Prime Minister

The intruder who was arrested while attempting to get closer to the President and the Prime Minister during the funeral of the late maestro W.D. Amaradeva on the 5th of November, at independence square, has been further remanded until November 17th.
The suspect was produced before Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya this morning.
The lawyer appearing on behalf of the suspect informed Court, that his client is suffering from a mental disorder.
Thereafter, the Magistrate ordered to convene a psychiatric assessment for the suspect.
Later the Presidential Security Division arrested the suspect and handed him over to the Colombo Crime Division.
