
Vehicle importers anticipate lease facilities from the budget

Even though the prices of vehicles were not changed significantly, leasing facilities given for the purchase of vehicles will be changed, Lanka Vehicle Importers’ Association says.
Its Chairman Indika Sampath Merinchige said that only 50 per cent of cars, vans and jeeps can be given leasing facilities.
Three-wheelers gets a 25 per cent leasing facility. Lorries and buses will be given a 90 per cent leasing facility.
He added that vehicles imported from India will see an increase of Rs. 200,000.
Prices of Hybrid vehicles will stay the same, while the limitation on lorries and trucks imports will be increased to 10 years.
