Moment a child sex offender attacks a prosecutor with a metal shank in court as he was convicted for abusing a 10-year-old girl

A child sex offender caught on courtroom video trying to attack a Michigan prosecutor with a piece of metal has now been charged with terrorism and attempted murder.

Joshua Harding, 35, was on trial last month for abusing a 10-year-old girl in cemetery when he suddenly pulled a shank from his sleeve and tried to stab assistant prosecutor Jonathan Roth the head.

The incident occurred on August 2, right as the jury were about to read the verdict, and video obtained by the Lansing State Journal shows the prosecutor getting out of the way at the last second while a police detective tackles Harding.

The attorney general's office announced charges Thursday against Harding and says a terrorism charge is allowed in the case of a violent felony that could affect the conduct of government.
