Thajudeen case: Rs. 250 million letter of demand from judicial medical officer

The former Chief Judicial Medical Officer of Colombo Dr. Ananda Samarasekera who conducted the first post mortem on the body of Wasim Thajudeen has sent a letter of demand to his successor Dr. Ajith Tennakoon claiming 250 million rupees within 7 days , as defamatory charges.
Dr. Samarasekera stated in his letter of demand that his reputation was tarnished due to the statement made by Dr. Tennakoon to a newspaper.
Dr. Samarasekera further stated that the newspaper interview has been carried out in a malicious manner to intentionally damage his reputation.
He has also made demands that the newspaper article be removed and an unconditional apology be made to him.
Meanwhile former chief judicial medical officer of Colombo who has filed an anticipatory bail application was taken before Colombo Magistrate today.
Colombo Additional Magistrate Aruni Artigala issued notice on the defendant faction of the Case CID to appear before Court on August 30th.
