Sri Lankan airlines captain who caused a flight delay has his License suspended

The Sri Lankan Airlines pilot who failed the alcohol test after causing the delay of a flight, has had his license suspended by the Director General of Civil Aviation pending an investigation looking into the matter.
The Director General, said in a letter addressed to the pilot that In view of the seriousness of the alleged violation, the Pilot License issued to the pilot has been suspended with immediate effect.
The letter mentioned that the suspension resulted from taking into account the fact that he failed the breathalyzer test, causing the delay of Friday’s flight from Frankfurt to Colombo.
Sri Lankan Airlines' flight UL 554 from Frankfurt Germany to Colombo carrying 259 passengers and crew was delayed by more than 15 hours.
The pilot was also instructed to show cause within seven days as to why his license should not be revoked.
