Inmate comes to the rescue of Oklahoma detention officer during attack

An inmate recently came to the rescue of an Oklahoma detention officer who was being attacked by another inmate.
On August 8, Tashka Robert Frank Maret, 24, was in a booking cell when he asked detention officer, Matthew Hudson, if he could go to the bathroom, the Stillwater News Press reports.
As soon as Hudson opened Maret’s cell, the inmate allegedly attacked Hudson, court documents state.
That is when Robert Charles Hammock, an inmate who was waiting to be released from custody, rushed to help the detention officer.
Hammock was able to help Hudson wrestle the inmate to the ground.
Maret is now facing charges for assault and battery against a police officer.
He faces five years in prison if convicted.
