High quality performance of team surprises Ford

Sri Lanka’s head coach Graham Ford admitted that some of the high quality performances his young team has come up with in the ongoing series against Australia have taken him by surprise.

He said that he wasn’t expecting that to happen as quickly as it has, and against such high quality opposition.

Sri Lanka scored 355 runs in their first innings of the 3rd and final Test Match, and in reply Australia scored 379 runs.

At the close of the day’s play yesterday, which was the 3rd day, Sri Lanka were 22 for 1, trailing by 2 runs with 9 wickets remaining, in their 2nd innings.
